STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, semi-finished and finished products at all processing stages.

Since 1993 TESTEX has been a member of the OEKO-TEX® Association, which is engaged in testing textiles for harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The testing institute has many years of experience in the field of human ecological testing and certification of textiles and their accessories. TESTEX makes significant contributions to the development of various testing methods. Based on the number of certificates issued, TESTEX is one of the leading institutes in this field.

Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) by OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system for brands, trading companies and manufacturers along the textile chain to communicate their sustainable production conditions transparently and credibly. The modular structure of STeP certification permits comprehensive analysis and evaluation of all relevant areas of the company with regard to the employment of environmentally friendly technologies and products, efficient management of resources and compliance with optimal working conditions in respect of health, safety and social compatibility.

Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is an independent textile label. It distinguishes consumer items and semi-finished goods from all stages of the textile chain and presupposes the following criteria:

  • Made with materials tested for harmful substances
  • Made in environmentally friendly facilities
  • Made in safe and socially responsible workplaces


The management and evaluation of the supply chain is facilitated by the central database MySTeP by OEKO-TEX®.

LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX®

The LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for leather and leather articles of all levels of production.

Examples of articles that can be certified include:

  • Semi-finished leather products (e.g. wet-blue, wet-white, crust etc.)
  • Finished leather
  • Leather fiber material
  • Ready-made articles (garments of all types, accessories, leather gloves, leather handbags, leather covers and much more)


For the leather materials the conditions and criteria of the latest valid LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® are applied, for non-leather components contained (e.g. textile materials, metallic accessories etc.) the requirements of the latest valid STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® have to be met.

As a manufacturer-independent label, the LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® can serve as a marketing tool which can clearly document your responsibility with regard to the human-ecological product safety of your articles to your customers along the supply chain through to brands, retailers and consumers.

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®

The basic concept of the new ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® was invented by TESTEX in the early 90s (Eco-Passport) and is now part of the OEKO-TEX® portfolio.

With this certification textile chemical suppliers can prove that their products can be used in a sustainable textile production.

The ECO PASSPORT program offers two distinct yet complementary stages:

  • Stage 1
    Restricted Substance List (RSL) and Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL)
    screening
  • Stage 2
    Analytical verification, performed at TESTEX (official OEKO-TEX® member institute)
